Week 9: I am full of Thanks.
In light of the recent holiday, I thought it only appropriate that I share the list of what I’m thankful for!!!
A roof over my head and food in the fridge.
For having found a soul mate I can grow with.
My ability to work and hold a job.
My physical, mental, and spiritual health
The ability to quench my thirst for faith and purpose.
My strong support system.
My higher power, in whom I derive all my strength and fortitude.
The gifts of free will and liberation.
For the men and women in the military who dedicate their lives to protect my freedoms.
The Master Key System.
The genius of the creator and the gift of neuroplasticity.
For the individuals who devote their lives to a legacy greater than themselves, so that future generations will be better off.
A home to make my own.
I’ve such an abundant life! I realized how much I have to be thankful for, but I also know in my heart that my contribution has been lacking. I’ve procrastinated taking action because of fear.
Taking Emerson’s Law most seriously, I have dreamed up the contribution I intend to make for all the abundance I know will flow back to me, not only in this life, but in the next. I want to share it, here.
But before I do, LISTEN UP
I’m talking about my God. I’m giving you fair warning that I’m allowing my Self to creatively express MY INDIVIDUALITY. I’m inviting you to my spiritual home. I’m making myself vulnerable to you!
If you decide to enter into that space, I invite you to do so in a respectful and tactful way, the same as if you were entering someone’s earthly home. I respectfully request the following as I realize now that I’m writing this, partly as a request and partly as a rule of entering that sacred space: please do not trash my religion. Please respect that anything I share here is built on a foundation of hard won lessons and the school of hard knocks for the past 26 years.
That being said, I invite you to make it a discussion! I think one of the worst tragedies is that people don’t talk about religion, but people don’t usually talk about religion because people get “offended”. In my religion, there is a place for all people. It is all inclusive, and loves all manners of men, therefore there can be no offense.
“I love all manners of men for each has qualities to be admired even though they be hidden. With love I tear down the wall of suspicion and hate which they have built round their hearts and in its place I build bridges so that my love may enter their souls.”
~From Scroll 2, The Greatest Salesman, Og Mandino
I give love freely, with no expectation of return, even though I know there will be a return at some point in the future, because that is the Universal Law of Karma and Emerson’s Law of Compensation.
Anyway, back to the point.
My personal pivotal needs, the oxygen to my soul, are Spiritual Growth and Liberty. My plan of action for exercising spiritual growth is embedded in my definite major purpose. My Plan of Action for exercising my liberty includes singing with the music of praise for my creator.
My dreams are so big and many people look at me like I’m crazy! Maybe I am! Personally I think we should have a club of crazy people, because in my world, crazy people are the ones who believe they can make a difference in the world, and those are my kinds of people!!!
And in my philosophy of growth and human evolution, inaction due to fear is a death sentence. If you’re not growing, you’re dying. To back down from a challenge due to fear is a sin. The point of life is growth and each individual is going to have unique trials and tribulations, unique challenges and opportunities for growth. I’m blessed in this life time to be struggling with the highest order need in Maslow’s hierarchy; self-actualization. These could also be coined, “First world problems.”
Plus, I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE! I don’t want to feel stifled, like Paul Revere without a horse! I want to grow, and flourish as a human being as this is my NATURE!
I believe that my calling in this world is founded in my deep soul connection to the concepts of liberty, free will, and justice, and my deep appreciation for how music refreshes the soul. I also have a keen sense for injustice, or opportunities for growth, and in this way I’m constantly analyzing and obsessing about process improvement or efficiency improvement ON ALL LEVELS, micro and macro. From how to organize my kitchen, to research opportunities to empower the youth of America, to creative ways to program my subconscious mind, and how to affect change in my culture.
All over the board for a specific purpose…growth. Growing what specifically?
Growing Universal Love.
This is what my Definite Major Purpose is centered around.
I started this blog inviting you to go on this adventure with me, but I hadn’t yet told you where we were going, because I wasn’t sure. I have a much better idea now, and I’d like to share it with you.
